I have spent my career dedicated to helping businesses in achieving their growth goals. My journey began in a family business where we purchased underperforming radio stations and transformed them into successful ventures. Each acquisition necessitated relocating to a new market and starting from scratch – recruiting, terminating, training, and borrowing ideas to get the stations back on track. Through this process, I received my leadership and management education from the “School of Hard Knocks”. Additionally, I worked with hundreds of business owners to help them grow their businesses through radio advertising.
Eventually, I sold the last two radio stations and started an advertising agency to offer more tools to help businesses in expanding. One significant success story was working with a team that grew a one-store marketing test into a 105-store national franchise that was ultimately sold successfully to a public corporation. As we progressed, we began to function as an outsourced marketing department for half of our clients, which provided me with a unique insight into how leadership teams struggle with growth, like my own experiences, and how real growth happens because of what the leadership team does within the organization’s walls and not just through a marketing program.
In April 2013, I discovered the book “Traction” by accident, and after reading just half of chapter one, I immediately recognized it as the “how-to” guide for small and mid-sized companies and that I would be able to help businesses grow more effectively and profitably with EOS. I became an EOS Implementer in August, and this is the most personally gratifying work I have ever done.
