When my wife and I started our own business, a 24 hour donut shop, we did it for the freedom to control our careers, schedules, finances, and to positively impact our employees and community. Three years in, freedom and control were nowhere to be found. We were both working 70+ hour weeks with high employee turnover, excessive inconsistencies, and unable to increase profits. We were growing, but the business was running us into the ground. We began implementing EOS in year four and within a few years were named one of the top 10 donut shops to visit in the country by Travel Magazine.
My wife was able to step out to pursue other interests and I now have the ability to pursue another passion as well. Having been through the ups and downs and endless hours, I find a lot of purpose sharing EOS with other business owners to make all the sacrifices worthwhile.
