Martin ‘served his apprenticeship’ in a small entrepreneurial family owned travel business which inspired him and his partner set up one of his own. They worked almost 24/7 in the first 2 years and got the business to £1m in turnover and to a small profit but his natural curiosity and desire to explore led him in a different direction.
He spent the next 20 years in leadership roles across a number of award winning international companies. This hugely successful period came to a shuddering halt when one of those companies almost went bust. “I discovered a heck of a lot more about myself during those dark days than I did during the good times” he recalls. In truth Martin learned that he had grown tired of the politics, lack of accountability and unnecessary complexity they created.
In 2010 he returned to his entrepreneurial roots and has been working with SME’s since helping them ‘get a grip’ on their business. It was here he discovered EOS and embedded the system into the organisation he was working with. The business doubled in size to £10m turnover and sold to a private investment office.
