I began my career at KPMG. Shortly after obtaining my CPA, I moved to the consulting side of KPMG and found that I loved helping my clients solve their problems. Soon, I felt the call of small business and became a partner in a small TV/internet start-up. All I can say is what a change! I felt like my hair was on fire most days battling 101 issues that seemed to crop up and derail my days. No matter what I did, nothing seemed to help. After 3.5 years of trying all different things to get Traction in the business, I was frustrated, burnt out and needed a change.
My next opportunity brought me to a garage door company to help execute on a roll-up strategy. On my second day, we had a 90-minute meeting to learn about something called ‘EOS’. I felt like a lightbulb went off in my head; these simple tools and processes were what I was missing at my last company.
Fast forward 4 years. Revenues grew by 3 times while profits increased over 600%! Our leadership team was aligned on a shared vision, and the entire organization was rowing in the same direction. Through this journey, I realized that I was not fulfilling my true calling, which is helping other people.
