Breakdowns Lead to Breakthroughs

Each New Year, we can now celebrate being one year farther from the havoc the COVID-19 pandemic wreaked on our lives, businesses, and the economy. From that very first shutdown, each company’s story differed. Some businesses struggled, while others managed to thrive.

Every business has now settled into a new ‘normal’.

How is Your New Normal?

This new normal includes lots of uncertainties: how the hybrid office affects employee engagement, the challenge of economic changes, and the emergence of AI in every facet of our lives, to name a few examples.

Sometimes, these developments present themselves as opportunities, and sometimes as threats. But it’s just our interpretation of reality based on what we think and feel.

One Person’s Threat is Another Person’s Opportunity

Entrepreneurs are used to disruption. Most of us have capitalized on it to propel our successes. But once we get comfortable, we can fear changes to our landscape, sometimes to our detriment.

I want to offer you a challenge: take a look at the setbacks, the losses, and the frustrations you are feeling and ‘turn that frown upside down.’ Flip them over and find the opportunity. Ask yourself, where is the silver lining?

It might be hard to find at first, but I promise it’s there!

Have you ever had that ‘critical’ employee leave, only to find you become stronger without them?

Or that whale of a client whose cheques you loved, but whose work you didn’t?

Setbacks are tough. But breakdowns can lead to breakthroughs—if you let them. Focus on your long-term goals, rally your team behind them, and you will come out ahead every time. Turn Your Next Breakdown Into A Breakthrough
