Are you taking Clarity Breaks?

Are you taking Clarity BreaksWe know that it is healthy to detach from the world occasionally to reflect and spend some quality time with yourself. It is rejuvenating, stress relieving and if you are lucky even downright fun. Try it, completely unplug and focus on you. You owe it to yourself!

Now take those same principles and apply them to your business. You owe it to the organization! As a business owner, leader, employee, it is very easy to get caught up in the day to day grind IN the business, but how often do you focus ON the business?

Clarity Breaks are an incredible way to do this. Grab a blank notepad, get away from your desk and turn off your phone. Find a place where you can focus on the big picture and detach from the grind. My favorite thing to do is jump in the truck and drive, the thoughts flood in and every now and then I’ll pull over and start filling the page. A few stops and I have full sheet of opportunities, obstacles or barriers that I can focus on to get my business vision back on track.

If some of those thoughts benefit the organization, make it an action item and share it with your team. If you get into a routine of having a regular break to focus ON the business it will help rejuvenate your vision and goals, help you gain the traction you need to dial in a process and alleviate stress, and if you are lucky make work downright fun again!

Everybody on your leadership team should take an opportunity daily, weekly, monthly to focus ON the business. As much as it helps you individually, it will also help the team. Share your time and place with the team so they can encourage, remind and respect that time you need just as you will do for them.

Take that time to clear your mind and work on work! It’s healthy!
